Overview

Maria Island is a special place with something for everyone – intriguing history, historic ruins, sweeping bays, rugged cliffs, mountains, and abundant wildlife.

Located off the east coast of Tasmania, the island is accessed by passenger ferry. Once on the island you will discover a place where there is no traffic, no shops and no worries.

This one day small group tour includes:
  • Return bus travel from Hobart to the Maria Island Ferry Terminal at Triabunna (approx 1 ½ hours travel time each way)
  • Return ferry from Triabunna to Maria Island
  • Tasmanian National Parks Pass
  • Mountain bike hire, inc. helmet
  • A tour leader (First Aid, Working with Children & Vulnerable People Accredited)
  • Small group size – Max. 12
  • Minimum age 18+ unless accompanied by a parent/legal guardian
What you need to bring & be aware of:
  • Maria Island has no shops so you need to take lunch, snacks and a water bottle with you. We will stop briefly at a bakery on the way so you can get what you need
  • A windproof/waterproof jacket is essential no matter what season as the weather in Tasmania can change quickly
  • A small backpack for your things while you are riding
  • Flat sole shoes/runners suitable for riding
  • Clothing suitable for riding and walking
  • Bathers (optional) in case the weather is great and you want a swim
  • Something to take pictures or video with
  • Pick up 8.30am from central Hobart, corner of Elizabeth Street and Davey Street (opposite the Tasmanian Travel and Information Centre 16-20 Davey St).
  • Drop off 5.30pm at corner of Elizabeth Street and Davey Street (near the Tasmanian Travel and Information Centre).
