An incredible weekend of mountain biking at two amazing destinations - Maydena Bike Park and Hobart's Mt. Wellington

Maydena Bike Park has nearly 100 km of world class trails.The trails are so good, it's a popular training base for some of the world's elite downhill and enduro racers. 

Mt. Wellington is an imposing mountain, rising 1270 metres above the city of Hobart. It boasts a rich history of mountain biking and racing. It's an icon on the Tasmanian landscape and a classic MTB adventure.

The tour is based out of Hobart. So after each day of riding, the group returns to Hobart.

For tour guests staying in Hobart, evenings are yours to experience the city's nightlife, restaurants, bars, & theatre. 


Open Tour: This is an open tour, available to solo riders, couples and small groups.

Guided Tour: You'll have an experienced guide riding with you on the trails.

Rider Ability: Riders should be at least intermediate level with moderate fitness.

Tour Group Size: Minimum 4 people, maximum 10.


Itinerary

Day 0

We ask that all guests are in Hobart the day before the tour begins as the tour has an early morning start.


Day 1

  • Transfer to Maydena Bike Park.
    The tour bus departs from outside The Old Woolstore Hotel at 7.15 am. 1 Macquarie St, Hobart.
  • 75-90 minute drive to Maydena.
  • Maydena Bike Park summit shuttles begin at 9.30am.
  • Full day of gravity riding, with trail guide.
  • Lunch and snacks can be purchased at the bike park.
  • Bus departs Maydena 6pm and returns to Hobart city centre by 7.30pm. 
  • Guests staying in Hobart city accommodation can be dropped at their accommodation.


Day 2

  • Shuttle up Mt. Wellington.
    The tour bus departs from outside The Old Woolstore Hotel at 9.00 am. 1 Macquarie St, Hobart.
  • Full day of riding on Mt. Wellington with shuttles.
  • Includes North-South Track, Glenorchy MTB Park, and descents into South Hobart. 
  • Finish riding around 4.30pm.
  • Guests staying in Hobart city accommodation can be dropped at their accommodation.

  • Full day of riding at Maydena Bike Park with unlimited shuttles
  • Full day of riding at Mt. Wellington with unlimited shuttles

Accommodation Option

For guests needing accommodation, we have rooms reserved at The Old Woolstore Apartments and Hotel in central Hobart. I'd you'd like to take this option, the accommodation can be added to your tour package during the online booking process. 


  • The Old Woolstore Apartments and Hotel has a 4.5-star rating, and is just a few minutes walk from Hobart's waterfront and some of the best restaurants in Tasmania. 
  • The spacious hotel rooms hold 1-2 guests and feature king, queen or single beds.
  • Services and facilities include: Serves breakfast, lunch, dinner. Free Wi-Fi, 24-hour hotel reception, gymnasium, and business centre. Secure bike storage and bike wash.
  • Room features: Air conditioning, desk, bath, shower, free toiletries, hairdryer, DVD player, flat-screen TV with satellite channels, refrigerator, towels.

For guests requiring mountain bike hire, we can arrange this.

Travel Insurance

We strongly recommend that all guests purchase travel insurance for their mountain bike tour. Travel insurance provides vital coverage for unexpected situations such as medical emergencies, trip cancellations, lost or damaged gear, and unforeseen accidents on the trail.


Minimum Group Size

The minimum group size is 4 people.

In the event that the minimum number is not achieved 30 days prior to the start of the tour, the customer will be contacted to discuss:

  1. Additional charges if customer wishes to proceed with the tour without meeting the minimum number.
  2. Alternate tour dates.
  3. Refund the deposit.


BOOKING

  • To secure a spot on the tour, we require a deposit of $100 per person.
  • Full payment must be received 30 days before the start of the tour.


CANCELLATIONS POLICY

  • Full Refund: For cancellations made 30+ days before the tour
  • 50% Refund: For cancellations made 15-29 days before the tour.
  • No Refund: For cancellations made within 14 days of the tour.
  • 100% refund of deposit if cancelled 30+ days before the tour.
  • Force Majeure: Full refund or credit for future tours if the tour is cancelled due to events beyond our control. 
  • Any cancellation requests are assessed on a case-by-case basis and we will use our discretion when applying fees.
