3 Hour Easy Guided Ride on Hobart's Mount Wellington, shuttle included. (Easy trails, suited to novice riders, mostly downhill).)

From AUD $50.00
  • Duration: 3 Hours (approx.)
  • Location: South Hobart, TAS

A gentle, mostly downhill and novice-friendly ride on bush trials. Our bus leaves from our office in South Hobart and will take you to the starting point in Neika. From there you will ride along a historic waterway called the Pipeline Track, finishing back at our start point in South Hobart.

Your experienced guide will ride with you all the way, making sure your riding experience is as much fun as it can be.

Along the way, you will ride through beautiful eucalyptus and fern forest, visit a waterfall, ride past historic aqueducts and take in some great views. There is a mid-ride short stop off at the quaint village of Fern Tree for a toilet/rest stop. For the 1.30-4.30pm tour, we will visit the Ferntree Tavern where you can buy lovely tea/coffee/cakes and other beverages. On cold days, they have a roaring fire to warm up by.

You should expect the journey to take around 3 hours.

Bikes
You can bring your own mountain bike or hire one of our bikes. Please note, the price of the tour does not include bike hire.

If you'd like to hire one of our bikes, we offer two options:

Helmets are included free with the bike hire.

The purchase of a hire bike can be at the same time of booking the ride.

Itinerary

Meet at our office at 473 Macquarie Street, South Hobart at least 10 minutes before our start time.

Together with our bikes, we will shuttle to the trail starting point in Neika (approx 20 minutes drive). After a safety briefing, we will ride together along the Pipeline track all the way back down into South Hobart.

You can expect the journey to take about 3 hours.

What to wear

On your feet: Runners or walking boots (no high heel shoes, thongs or sandals).

Clothing: Something comfortable that you will be able to ride a bike in. A windproof/waterproof jacket is a good idea (we have a few spares if you need to borrow one).

What to bring
Small back pack - to store your jacket, a snack, a drink and your camera. If you don't have a back pack your guide may have room in their back pack.
