Itinerary

April 9-Arrival day

Fly into Hobart International Airport (Arriving 9.15pm). We will be waiting to collect you at the Oversized Baggage Pick Up Point. From Hobart airport we will drive for approx. 30 min into Hobart to your accommodation to settle in and reassemble your bike (if bringing your own).

April 10 – Mount Wellington/Meehan Range

Start the day with a hearty breakfast at one of Hobart's many cafes. We will then have an easy warm up  to make sure everyone's bikes are working well. We will then shuttle you to the top of Mount Wellington to take in the views (clouds permitting). We then decent a few hundred meters to ‘The Springs’ to commence riding the North-South track (approx 12km). This purpose built trail is suited to riders of moderate ability but has lots of extras for those wanting greater challenges. The forest, views and riding terrain are constantly changing and few go home disappointed! The trail concludes at the Glenorchy Mountain Bike Park. If you have the legs for it, you will have some time to explore this massive MTB Park.

Following lunch, we will head to the The Meehan Range on Hobart’s eastern shore. The Meehan Range is a massive network of professional and volunteer made trails. There are over 45 to ride and we wont get them all done in a day but we will do a ‘best of’! Often referred to as the Clarence MTB Park, it has heaps of trails for all abilities. Some of
the single trail here is technical both in ascent and decent. It regularly holds rounds of the local and statewide rounds for Enduro and Downhill races. This is a very popular spot for locals but it's so large, don’t expect to see too many on the trails! Corkscrew is a must for intermediate and advanced riders and the Meehan Monster and Clarence Down Hill will test the more advanced.

There’s also a small pump track, jumps trail and skills park. There are no up shuttles here, expect to get some climbing into your legs. After we've made the most of the Meehan, we’ll rack the bikes and head back to your accommodation to freshen up before heading out to dinner and drinks at Salamanca on Hobart’s waterfront.

April 11 – Depart Hobart for Saint Helen's via Maria Island

We will meet early for a hearty breakfast before we drive up the East Coast to Triabunna (approx 1 1/2 hours by bus), where we will catch the ferry to Maria Island with our bikes to explore this beautiful island (check out Flow Mountain Video for details). Maria Island has no public vehicles, so its a riders heaven with abundant flora, fauna, history and wilderness. If you aren’t afraid of cold water, you might wish to take your bathers for a swim in the crystal clear waters surrounding the island. Expect to get up close and personal with the local wildlife as wombats and wallabies cross your path on a regular basis. On low tide the painted cliffs are a must visit for us.

By exploring the island on bikes, we can experience so much more in a day. Although there is no single trail, the riding here really is pleasant and the middle island track is a lot of fun! By mid afternoon we will be back on the Ferry and continuing our journey up the east coast for Saint Helen's. We will have dinner on the way and can expect to get you to your accommodation around 8.30pm. The Ferry costs and National Parks Pass and bike transportation  is all included in the tour price.

April 12 - Bay of Fires Trail & St Helen's Stacked loops

After breakfast at our accommodation, we will shuttle you to the top of the Blue Tiers (Piomena) where we will start the new epic 42 km trail back to the east coast. Our driver will meet us at about the half way point for us refuel before tackling the second half. We will then ride all the way to the magnificent Bay of Fires (Swimcart Beach). Feel free to bring bathers for a swim!

We will have a late lunch at Saint Helen's followed by some of the Saint Helen's trails for anyone who still has legs for it! If not, a lazy late afternoon by the beach or exploring St Helen's is an option for anyone that wants a rest.

Dinner will be at a local venue.

April 13- Blue Tiers/Atlas

Following breakfast we will pack up from our accommodation and drive back to the top of Blue Tiers. This time we will ride this amazing 19km trail down to Weldborough Hotel where we will have lunch.

Following lunch, we will get shuttled to the top of Atlas trail trail head to begin the 14km ride to Derby. Again if anyone has the legs for it, we can squeeze in another ride before we head our accommodation before freshening up for dinner.

April 14– Derby

After breakfast at our accommodation, we will spend the day getting shuttled on the Blue Derby Trails. This is an amazing network of trails for all abilities. We will make sure you get to ride the ones that suit your style and ability best. Lunch will be at a cafe in Derby before we head back out onto the trails for a few more runs before heading back to Hobart. We will leave Derby at around 3.30pm and have dinner on the way to our accommodation in Hobart.

April 15 - Maydena MTB Park

Following a hearty breakfast we will ride one of the world’s newest and best gravity parks. With 820 meters of elevation and 64 trail options, you are in for some real thrill riding! This is an uplift park, so you can save your legs for the impressive descents. The park is open from 9.30am to 4.30pm, so go hard before we take you back to your accommodation to freshen up/pack bikes before our final dinner at a local venue back in Hobart.
