Tour Summary

Your adventure starts with a minibus shuttle to the summit of Mt Wellington. After taking in the amazing 'on top of the world' views, you'll receive one of our Scott Genius all-mountain bikes and take off on a thrilling 6 km descent down the summit road. Next, you'll drop into one of Tasmania's best adventure MTB trails, the 11km North-South Track. This is a beautiful, fun, and challenging ride. It's a blue-rated trail, suited to intermediate riders and above.

"When a trail is a really good one, you’ll know its name before you even know where it starts. Hobart’s North-South Track is one of these masterpieces. Its genius lies in its ability to thrill riders of all types, a carefully crafted journey with a landscape that changes dramatically along the way."

The North-South Track is suitable for mountain bike riders of intermediate ability. For the more advanced riders, there are some more challenging features located on side loops, including log rides, drops, and jumps.

The North-South Track is straightforward to navigate, there are direction signs placed along the trail.

This tour is self-guided, however, if you are interested to have a guide, please let us know.

After completing the North-South Track, you'll need to ride back to our office. We recommend riding along the Intercity Cycleway. This paved cycleway follows the old railway line through the northern suburbs of Hobart. It's about 14 km back to the office and takes 45-60 mins.
If you are interested to be collected by our minibus at the end of the trail, please contact us for availability and a quote.

How much time should I allow for this ride?

The shuttle ride to the summit, followed by the road descent to the start of the North-South Track, allow 60 mins.
The North-South Track takes between 60-120 minutes, depending on your riding ability and stop-offs.
The ride back to Hobart on the City Cycleway takes 45-60 mins.
Overall, allow for 4-5 hours.
