Tour summary

Your adventure starts with a minibus shuttle to the summit of Mt Wellington. After taking in the amazing 'on top of the world' views, you'll throw your leg over one of our Avanti Hammer-E LT2 all-mountain e-bikes and take off on a thrilling 6 km descent down the summit road. Next, you'll drop into one of Tasmania's best adventure MTB trails, the 11km North-South Track. This is a beautiful, fun, and challenging ride. It's a blue-rated trail, suited to intermediate MTB riders and above.

North-South Track into Glenorchy MTB Park

At the end of the North-South you'll find yourself in the Glenorchy Mountain Bike Park, more trails to explore, including jump lines and dirt jumps.

After Glenorchy MTB Park

If you decide to finish after the North-South Track and Glenorchy MTB Park, you'll need to return the bike to our office. We recommend riding along the Intercity Cycleway. This paved cycleway follows the old railway line between Glenorchy and Hobart. It's about 14 km back to the office and takes 45-60 mins.

Keen for more trails?

If you're keen for more trails after the bike park, we recommend hitting the sport or boost button on the e-bike and heading back up the North-South Track. The trail is dual direction and the bike's motor makes the climb very achievable. There are several trails coming off the North-South Track that will lead you back to our office in South Hobart. This'll turn your ride into a pretty big day on the bike, lots of kms!

Before taking this option, we'd recommend doing some trail research on the website www.trailforks.com or its accompanying mobile phone app, 'Trailforks'. The mobile app can be downloaded for free from an app store.

TasMBA staff are also available to offer trail advice.
